#MOTD Breakdown

Since I got such a great response to my recent #MOTD [Makeup of the Day] pics on Instagram, I thought I'd post a breakdown of exactly what I used to paint my face. :)

Although these looks are extremely different - the only thing I changed was my lip color.... which really shows you what a difference some lipstick can make!

LIPS

I'm LOVING my latest purchase from MAC Cosmetics - this magenta matte lipstick called Flat Out Fabulous. [Click pics to purchase/for details]

It is matte so it tends to be a bit dry so as the day went on I applied a sheer gloss over it just to keep my lips nice and moisturized.

FACE

Now, when it comes to a flawless face - a great foundation is a MUST. Kat Von D's Lock It Tattoo Foundation is my ABSOLUTE FAV!

This foundation is EXTREMELY full coverage so it really gives you that flawless face look no matter what kind of blemishes you may have. Because it does offer such great coverage, it tends to be a bit thicker... but I've never thought it to be cakey at all.  I suggest applying it with a beauty blender.

EYES

Now this look is definitely a bit different from what I usually go for.  Normally I play up my eyes, but today since I knew I wanted to do a bold lip, I went for a more subtle look.  The #1 MUST HAVE to achieve this look is my favorite shadow palette EVERRRRR [drumroll please] The NAKED3.

This palette is great because it has a mixture of matte shadows as well as some more shimmery ones, so you can really use it to create so many different looks!

Today I used #1 [STRANGE] on my lid and #2 [NOONER] in my crease. The key with ANY eye shadow look is BLENDING so I made sure to "fan out" #2 so that I didn't have an extreme line in my crease area.

For my lashes, I piled on the mascara [as I always do]... and my go-to is L'oreal's Voluminous Million Lashes in Blackest Black.

BROWS

Brows [and lashes] are EVERYYYYYTHING to me and Benefit Cosmetics makes my fav brow duo - it's really all you need!

This duo contains a wax on one side and a powder on the other.  The wax to hold your brows in place and a powder to fill in any spaces.  Check out my Daily Obsession segment to see exactly how I apply this product.

CHEEKS

I went easy on the blush today and just used a tad bit of bronzer underneath my cheekbones.  Laguna by Nars is the BEST.

Of course, as with any bronzers, you have to go easy on the application.  Too much at one time can make your face appear dirty.

LOOK #2

Now... for  my second look, all I did was change up my lipstick!

Mac Creme Cup is my favorite pale pink lipstick.

It has a tiny bit of sheen to it, but not too much.  It really just gives you some nice subtle color.
